Privacy Policy — Shorts, Reels & Ad Remover

Chrome Extension · Last updated June 2026

    Summary

Shorts, Reels & Ad Remover does not collect, transmit, store on remote servers, or sell any personal or sensitive user data. The extension runs entirely on your device. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and the limited data it handles locally.

    1. What the Extension Does

The extension hides or removes short-form video feeds, reels, and advertisements on supported websites (YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter) by modifying how those pages are displayed in your browser. All of this happens locally within your browser tab.

    2. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information. The only data the extension handles is:

    • Your on/off preferences and toggles (for example, whether Shorts removal is enabled). These are saved using Chrome's storage API and remain on your device / in your own Chrome sync account. They are never sent to us.

We do not collect browsing history, the content of the pages you visit, IP addresses, location, health, financial, or authentication information.

    3. How the Data Is Used

Your saved preferences are used solely to remember your settings between sessions so the extension behaves the way you configured it. The data is not used for any other purpose.

    4. Data Sharing & Selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, credit assessment, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single function.

    5. Permissions We Request

    • storage — to save your on/off preferences locally.
    • Host access to youtube.com, facebook.com, linkedin.com, x.com and twitter.com — required so the extension can hide Shorts/Reels/ads on those specific sites. The extension only runs on these sites and only modifies page display.

    6. Data Retention & Removal

Because preferences are stored locally by Chrome, they are removed when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data. We hold no copy of your data.
